Happy 2017 Everyone!

Hello, Exceleration!
We hope this note finds you sliding, spinning, throwing, running, building, skiing, and just having plain ole’ fun in the unusual Vancouver snow!!  Whether you are are up or down the mountains, it has been an amazing run of the white stuff this year.  Please, read on for some important reminders as we head into the winter season.

WELCOME to our new Board Members and THANK YOU (a million times) to those moving on.  A special thank you to Dick Woldring, now past Treasurer, one of our founding Board Member who was an instrumental part of helping Exceleration become the amazing, family program it is today. We will miss you!!… though hope to see you at the pool often!

WINTER: NORTHERN LIGHTS AND SWIM, SWIM, SWIM
As the holidays come to a close, we hope to see many of you for some fun in the frozen and liquid water this session!  We focus heavily on swimming for Adventure Tri and KOS these next 10 weeks, with slightly longer swims and more focus on stroke technique as the winter (lower) numbers allow for more individualized instruction.  Our theme will be the Northern Lights, so get ready for some spectacular running / jumping / tumbling / exploring / Inuksuk-building, a traverse to the North Pole as a group, and many colourful surprises! We will be using the activity room more often on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays as well.
**Biking will continue on Saturday for YOS, KOS, and Ad Tri, however, weather will dictate how far / long the groups will go.  There will be non-biking options if you wish to leave the wheels at home!

IMPORTANT TUESDAY CYCLING NOTICE
Cycling (or some variation thereof) WILL occur every Tuesday, however, there will be a shift in focus to bike maintenance, integration of strength / core, and some running until the snow dissipates.
TUESDAY RIDERS, PLEASE, BRING THE FOLLOWING:
– bike, helmet, spare tubes, and EXTRA WARM CLOTHING
– running shoes and warm clothing
– indoor attire for strength and core (in activity room if weather is inclement)

KEEP EYES ON OUR WEBSITE
Upcoming Pro-D day camps (next one January 30), Training Days (Youth – next one Jan. 15) and other exciting “keep-you-in-the-tri-spirit” events will be posted as they come up.

SESSION NOTES AND LATE REGISTRATION
This sessions ends at Spring Break.  We typically have many spots open, so if skiers find the season waning in late February, we invite you to sign up for the final weeks if you would like some extras fitness before the next holiday.  We are also (usually) more flexible in the winter session and can accommodate some switching or alternating days if athletes’ schedules require.  Please, contact the coaches if you are interested in this option.

Templeton closes for annual maintenance during Spring Break and then we are all back in action mid-April until our June Tri-It-Tri Triathlon.  The Spring session fills quickly (though we will be running back-to-back practices again this year for Ad Tri and KOS groups in the Spring Session).

Wishing you all a wonderful, healthy, and exciting new year! May you have just enough rain to appreciate the sun and just enough snow to get your snowball-throwing-shoulders warmed up :)-
