On the weekend of May 30/31st 38 athletes from Exceleration traveled to Victoria to compete in the annual Victoria Youth Triathlon. On Saturday many of the athletes participated in the TriBC time trials before the early Sunday race. The team was supported by two coaches and over 15 parents. This also was the first Superseries race of the year.
Many of the families got together at Centennial Park for a picnic dinner Saturday night and a pre-race coach briefing with Coach Z. We filled more than 15 rooms at Motel 6 which was located close to the venue and fit the bill. Next year we will work on a group booking for the motel and look forward to seeing members from all ages of the club come out for this event.
The racing itself showed that there is going to be some stiff competition for BC Games spots at the Tri-it Tri next weekend. Good luck to all the athletes and hopefully everyone has a clean race with no rule infractions. The sportsmanship of Exceleration really showed in Victoria.
